Letters of exchange with CLP posted on SCMP

Feature Story - 2005-06-24

After Greenpeace engagement in the Annual General Meeting of CLP Holdings on 28th April 05, we keep our dialogue with CLP to reiterate our opposition to CLP to its further expansion of coal burning capacity across Asia, in which CLP is choosing to worsen the climate change crisis. CLP fails to make a significant renewable energy commitment as compared with its heavy new coal capacity in Asia.

We have the following letters of exchange with CLP posted on SCMP in June.

  1. "Decide against coal, say CLP shareholders" - an open letter to CLP chairman Michael Kadoorie, by representatives of communities affected by coal plants in Asia and Greenpeace, SCMP 4/6/05
  2. "Inaccuracy sets back talks on pollution - CLP", by Jane Lau, group public affairs director, CLP Holdings, SCMP 10/6/05
  3. "Greenpeace cites CLP report fro fossil fuel reliance", by Robin Oakley, Climate & Energy campaign manager, Greenpeace China, SCMP 15/6/05
  4. "Greenpeace used misleading figures to accuse CLP", by Jane Lau, group public affairs director, CLP Holdings, SCMP 18/6/05
  5. "Greenpeace response to 18th June, 2005, CLP letter", by Robin Oakley, Climate & Energy campaign manager, Greenpeace China (have not posted on SCMP)
