Job Overview

The purpose of the position is to provide comprehensive I.T. specialist advice and support to the GPEA BJ office, and to ensure that all major systems and applications are operating effectively.


• Review, enhance, and upgrade existing system/infrastructure design and develop technical documentation, such as system configuration, plan and specifications

• Administrate & monitors different Application Systems, Security System, NT environment, organization’s user

accounts, network routers, switches, firewalls, VPN Network; involving installation, configuration, monitoring, tuning and application support

• Maintain the health and software upgrades to the external web server, and ensure the integrity of this server

• Work with the Multimedia Team, to ensure the video and photography storage devices are online and

available, and that adequate backups are made regularly

• Perform data management including e-mails / files / database backups and provide desktop support to end users

• Evaluate the performance of application server(s), systems, and security policies

• Audit all computers/notebooks with respect to their status, performance, and storage capacity

• Identify, research, and resolve technical problems for end users on the organization’s IT equipment and software applications including desktop computers, notebooks, peripherals, copiers, office applications, and telecommunication equipment

• Administer, support and troubleshoot the Virtual Server

• Work with colleagues in GPI to enhance and ensure the security of the Beijing office infrastructure, as well as other related projects

• Assist wherever necessary, the IT Development Manager, in mentoring, guiding the work of fellow IT staff members, and provide support whenever it is required
